The Gorilla Golf Tournament
Alpine sponsored there first hole at The Gorilla Golf Tournament! Spence played in the tournament to network and expand relationships while I (Britney) stayed at the hole with some help from our Business Coach David Thompson. He took the information for one game we had going on. That game was the gum ball guess. Everyone that came around had to guess how many gum balls were in the bowl in order to win a $600.00 chair. It was fun to hear all the guesses and know we had no idea how many were in the bowl. We did it that way so people couldn't hussle us for the guess. (I'm a bad liar and would give it away by looking at them weird or squirming when they guessed close or way out of control) The other game that we had going on was..... at the beginning before any players came along I hit three pink balls down the fairway. The farthest one I went and marked with a pink poster. So every player that came to the tee box had two options.......... keep there pride and out drive me for an Airhead OR don't out drive me with a tiny drive for a tiny tootsie roll or as I liked to call them a pitty candy! Along with that, to prove golf is not a men's sport I put pink on the hole and gave every women player a sleeve of pink balls. But I also had extra pink balls for a third game we were playing. If the men did not hit there ball past the women's tee box they had to play the rest of the whole with a pink ball! It was so fun and all the guys that did not leave with there pride were a good sport about it. I was wearing high heels that day and even though I took my heels off to hit my original balls I had three groups that forced me to prove my swing to them that I really can golf, so to rub it in a little more I even left my high heels on and swung away! I am happy to report there were impressed and I am sure that is the first and last time they will ever see high heels on the golf course again :) I met so many fun people and learned a lot from everyone that came through. Thank you to Jensen & Keddington for putting on such an amazing event and allowing us to be involved. Oh and the winner of the chair was Mr. Kelly Whytock from Ridge View Mortgage. We had 419 gum balls and he guessed 418. Congratulations Kelly!
